My new work continues the theme of identity but this time echoes legends of selkies as a starting point. Caught between two worlds. Skin-like layers that have been crocheted or knitted then frozen into shapeshifting forms. The soft and malleable turned permanently rigid. It is a bit like a 3 D drawing. The yarn like a piece of charcoal on paper, one continuous uninterrupted line. I am exploring the interplay of positive and negative space, shapes and shadows.
